ARA Oil

Arachidonic Acid (AA) Oil

ARA, commonly known as arachidonic acid (AA), is the most important omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid in the human body.

Introduction

ARA, commonly known as arachidonic acid, is the most important omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid in the human body. ARA plays an important role in the blood, liver, muscle and other organ systems as structural lipids bound to phospholipids. ARA accounts for 40% of PUFAs in human brain and nerve tissue, and even as high as 70% in nerve endings. ARA also plays an important role in the growth and development of infants and young children, improving memory, regulating blood lipids and blood sugar in adults, preventing cardiovascular diseases, and assisting in suppressing tumors.

ARA oil was approved as a new food raw material by the National Health Commission in 2010 and can be added to ordinary food ARA.

Eicosatetraenoic acid is commonly called arachidonic acid, which are ω-6 PUFAs. They are essential to brain, nerve, physiology and retina for infants, especially for development of platelets.

Application

  • Arachidonic acid is helpful for facilitating the growth of muscle tissues around the skeleton.
  • Arachidonic acid and its metabolites help regulate neurotransmitter release.
  • Arachidonic acid is metabolized so that it may be used to modulate ion channel activities, protein kinases and neurotransmitter uptake systems. Arachidonic acid acts as a substrate that is changed to useful metabolites.
  • Arachidonic acid helps to maintain hippocampal cell membrane fluidity.
